I am thinking of buying the Nizo S800. I want a camera with accurate manual exposure and a good zoom, any thoughts? How does this camera compare with the Canon 814 XL? Will the Nizo last as long as the Canon?

Well, I've owned both, but I only had the 814XL-S for a short time, so this isn't a super expert opinion.
The zoom is longer on the Nizo.
As far as comparting Canon optics to Schneider, I'm sure there are people in both camps, but probably the Canon glass is better, but they are both super lenses.

From what I've heard, I'd say the Canon will probably last longer. I rarely hear of people needing to get their Canon 1014XL-S or 814XL-S repaired, but you will hear LOTS of people talking about fixing their Nizo's (including me!).
However, the Nizo 800 is certainly cool, especially with that nifty little leather case, and the cartridge loading from the back of the camera.
Either camera would be a nice shooter.

I have a Nizo 800, but it needs..ummm...repair. But its a great camera; compact, sleek-looking, nice lense, great features.

    I don't have a Canon, but the school I attended had 514's, 814's, and 1014's - and they didn't break.

Can't go wrong with either of them.
